Employee: Man broke into Stratford coffee shop and stole candy

Posted: Updated:

Police say a man busted through the glass and got into Station House Coffee Shop at the Stratford train station early Thursday morning.

Employee Eli DeBiozan says his boss saw the man on surveillance breaking into the store, taking some items and then leaving quickly.

"He came in, took a couple steps in, took some candy from over there," said DeBiozan. "I was surprised that he would break in here just for a couple of pieces of candy."

DeBiozan says this store has been robbed before but much more was taken.

Police say this was an isolated incident and that commuters should not worry.

Stratford police say they patrol the area every morning and night and they reacted very quickly to this case. They ask anyone with information to give them a call.
