Police: Construction worker killed at SoNo Collection in Norwalk

A construction worker was killed on the job Tuesday at the new SoNo Collection in Norwalk, police say.

A construction worker was killed on the job Tuesday at the new SoNo Collection in Norwalk, police say.
The incident happened at 2:30 a.m. at the 100 North Water Street construction site.
Police say the man was working outside of the building when he fell from an elevated height. They say responding officers provided aid before the worker was transported to Norwalk Hospital. The worker later died from his injuries.
Brookfield Properties operates the SoNo Collection and released a statement saying, "We are heartbroken. Out of respect for the family during this difficult time, we will not be commenting further. We are providing assistance to the Norwalk Police Department with their developing investigation."
Some stores at the SoNo Collection are open, but construction is happening around the clock to finish the new mall.
Norwalk Police have called this incident an accident. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is investigating the incident.
Police have not released any information about the victim.
