A Fairfield man is facing charges after smashing into five cars and assaulting a police officer, police say.
Christopher Garcia, 25, was arrested Thursday and is facing charges for driving under the influence, reckless driving and evading, interfering with an officer, and assault.
Police say Garcia was attempting to park near Grace Street in Fairfield when he pulled into a driveway and struck a vehicle.
Police say Garcia attempted to try to fix his car, but kept hitting other parked vehicles in the process including a passing vehicle.
Police were called, and he was arrested.
Garcia also grabbed an officer back at the station and was brought to the ground in a struggle while officers attempted to change his cell, police say.
Police called in back up, but no officers were hurt.
Garcia was held on a $25,500 bond and appeared in court Friday morning.
