A Long Island nonprofit organization is working to make sure that children in hospitals don't go without a toy this holiday season.
John Theissen Children's Foundation is kicking off its 28th annual Holiday Toy and Fund Drive.
The center in Wantagh will be collecting unwrapped toys for sick children and those in need through Dec. 23.
The group's mission is to help out families burdened with medical bills so they can enjoy the holidays.
Last year, the nonprofit donated nearly 80,000 toys to child care facilities and local hospitals.
