An 18-year-old boy has been charged in connection to a Stamford crash that killed two of his friends, police say.

Police say Jerry Diaz was under the influence and speeding when he crashed into two utility poles on Canal Street killing two of his passengers on August 26.

NiShawn Tolliver and Kymani Pollack were killed.

Two other teens in the car were left in critical condition.

Police say Diaz was already in custody on an unrelated charge when they arrested him in connection to the crash.
