A New York man is accused of stealing $10,000 worth of handbags from a store in Greenwich, police say.

A New York man is accused of stealing $10,000 worth of handbags from a store in Greenwich, police say.
Police say Gerald Smith, 48, of Mount Vernon, was arrested in New York on unrelated charges Tuesday and transported to Connecticut as a fugitive.
Smith and another man are accused of stealing purses from a store along Greenwich Avenue in January.
He is also wanted by police in Paramus, New Jersey in connection to theft charges.
