Newtown roadside staple Botsford Drive-In to close by end of month

Botsford Drive-In, a roadside favorite in Newtown, will close its doors for good at the end of the month.
Owners Kris and Tina Castagna say they will close the business after 40 years on Nov. 30. The staple has been in the same family for three generations.
"It is bittersweet to see the end of an era," Tina says. “The support has been overwhelming, but we are so lucky to live in a community who will truly miss us."
Tina met Kris when she was in high school working at Botsford. She says it's time to try something new.
Customers were seen Wednesday lining up for what may have been their last meal from Botsford.
"It's just nostalgia," said Heather Dahlmeyer, of Newtown. "Brings you back."
Seeing the small business go is losing "that familiarity and that comfort, that we're helping support our neighbor," Bobby Simpson of Shelton says.
The drive-in is located just off Route 25 in Newtown and is known for its jumbo-style hot dogs and curb service.
