Police say a teen is facing charges for concealing a cellphone camera in the woman's bathroom at the Seaford restaurant where he worked.
It happened at El Coyote Loco Restaurant on Merrick Road. Police say an 8-year-old girl who was using the bathroom on Saturday noticed the phone, which had been pointed at a toilet and set to record.
The restaurant manager was notified, and police responded. They say an investigation revealed that a 17-year-old restaurant employee, who lives in Bay Shore, had placed the camera there. Police say the camera had recorded "multiple other female victims."
The teen defendant, whose name was not released due to his age, was taken into custody without incident, according to police. He is charged with three counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance and was due in court in Hempstead on Sunday.
Detectives are searching for the other victims who were recorded on the phone. They are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 516-573-6753.
