Winter storm blankets region with snow and ice, closes schools

Posted: Updated:

A winter storm blanketed the region with snow and ice and prompted school closures Tuesday.

The storm swept through Litchfield and Fairfield counties Monday night before clearing early Tuesday.

Litchfield County saw more snowfall totals and school closings than lower Fairfield County, but ice and slick road conditions prompted school delays further south across the state.
