Police: Mother killed, Silver Alert issued for 1-year-old girl missing from Ansonia home

Posted: Updated:

Ansonia police are searching for a 1-year-old girl missing from a home where her mother’s body was found Tuesday morning.

Police believe whoever took the child, Venessa Morales, from the home on Myrtle Avenue may have also killed her mother.

Authorities say a concerned family member called police, who performed a welfare check on the home. That’s when they found her mother dead and the child missing.

Police released a picture of Morales, who described her as a “white female with brown hair and brown eyes.”

The child's disappearance has sparked a Silver Alert. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.
