Power & Politics: UConn trustee chair speaks on tuition hikes

Some UConn students are feeling "sticker shock" with another round of tuition hikes.
News 12’s John Craven spoke about the issue with UConn Trustees Chair Dan Toscano on this week’s Power & Politics.
He says costs are going up because of so many unfunded state pensions for UConn’s retired workers. But Toscano says they tried to avoid balancing the budget on the backs of students.
"These increases, while we hate increases, are the lowest we've had in quite some time,” he says.
UConn is also paying $17 million to rejoin the Big East athletic conference
