The Norwalk Police Department is banding together to help one of their own.
Officer Cesar Ramirez, who has served on the force for more than 30 years, was recently diagnosed with an inoperable glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
"He's constantly doing what he can for members of the community, so we're asking at this point, the community gives back to Officer Ramirez," says Norwalk police Lt. Terry Blake.
On New Year’s Eve, CrossFit Norwalk, at 30 Muller Ave., is holding a fitness fundraiser to benefit Ramirez and his family. The workout is crafted for any fitness level and will consist of rowing, squats and burpees.
Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. Everyone who registers receives a free T-shirt.
