Dept. of Health: Flu season death toll rises to 5; hospitalizations up from last week

Another person in Connecticut has died from the flu.

The most recent death brings the total this flu season to five. All of the deaths involved people over the age of 65.

Overall, the reports of flu-like illnesses were up last week compared to the week before, with 75 total hospitalizations.

Last flu season, 87 flu-related deaths were reported, down from 175 reported in the previous season.
