Bridgeport mourns police officer who died of heart attack at his Stamford home
There are heavy hearts in Bridgeport Monday after a veteran police officer died suddenly over the weekend.
Officials say Officer Jarah Matthews-Dixon died of a heart attack at his home in Stamford Saturday.
Matthews-Dixon joined the Bridgeport Police Department in 2008. He received the Distinguished Service Medal and the Medal of Merit during his 12-year career.

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim called Matthews-Dixon "a fallen hero who will be deeply missed."
Officials say funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
