Police say they found various weapons in the Stamford home of a convicted felon.
They say they arrived at 503 Pepper Ridge Road after complaints of an argument on Wednesday afternoon. However, they say they ended up finding much more.
Officers say they found that a gun was fired in the basement of the house. They also say they found a refrigerator with multiple bullet holes.
Authorities say an illegal assault weapon and 250 rounds of ammunition were in the home. More weapons were also found including long bows, cross bows, pellet guns and a machete.
Police say they were also alarmed by the makeshift bunker that was being constructed in the man’s bedroom.
"When somebody's making an overt action to build a bunker out of cement blocks right around their sleeping area and telling many people that's for the ensuing battle with police, ‘if they come for me,’ you know it's certainly a red flag,” said an officer.

Police arrested the home’s resident, 30-year-old Nick Kowaleski. They say he is a convicted felon who had violated a protective order several years ago.
Kowaleski is being held on $100,000 bond. He's due in court next month.
Authorities say Kowaleski will have a psychological evaluation.
