Town of Orange fire marshal killed in car accident

Posted: Updated:

Orange's bravest said goodbye to one of their own Monday.

Firefighters formed an honor guard in front of their headquarters on the Boston Post road as the body of Fire Marshal Tim Smith passed on the way to a funeral home.

Smith was killed Sunday evening in a one-car accident on Route 69 in Woodbridge.

Officials say Smith was apparently returning from a fire call to his home in Prospect when he lost control of his car and hit a tree.
