2 women killed, 2 men critically hurt in Newark crash

Two women were killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Newark, officials say.

Police responded to the scene at 15th Avenue and Hunterdon Street at around 3:30 a.m.

A black Infinity G35 hit a pole and tree, causing the roof to rip off the car.

Two women have been pronounced dead. Two men were transported to University Hospital and are reportedly in critical condition.

Another woman who was in the car is in stable condition.

Police say the incident is under investigation.

The identities of the people involved have not been released.
