An 18-year-old boy was killed, and a 21-year-old man was injured during a shooting on Highland Avenue in Bridgeport, police say.
The incident happened Sunday outside the Junco #2 Grocery Store around 5:37 p.m.
Police say they responded to Highland Avenue after Shot Spotter alerted them of a shooting in the area.

Myreke Kenion, 18, of Bridgeport, was found with at least one gunshot wound on Highland Avneue.
Kenion was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he later died.
Police say a 21-year-old man who was with Kenion was also shot in the chest and leg.

They say he ran across the street to the Greene Homes complex and collapsed outside building two.
He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to be OK.
Detectives say they attempted to speak with him, but his father refused to allow police to talk to him.
This is the second homicide in Bridgeport this year, police say.
