As accused killer Fotis Dulos fought for his life in a Bronx hospital, today Dulos' legal team fought for him in a Stamford courtroom.
Attorney Norm Pattis called Dulos' medical condition "grim" and "dire" one day after a suicide attempt at his home in Farmington.
In court, Judge Gary White ordered his re-arrest for failing to show up to an emergency bond hearing yesterday.
But an agreement between the state's attorney and Pattis allows Dulos to remain at Jacobi Medical Center where family members can visit. Patts said Dulos' loved ones will be arriving in New York from Greece Wednesday and are awaiting a prognosis from doctors.
Dulos is not in police custody at the hospital, but officers are outside his room. He had been due in court yesterday for an emergency bond hearing but never showed up.
When police performed a welfare check, they found in the garage, unresponsive from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Had Dulos shown up, there was a good chance the judge would've revoked his bond. A motion asking to do so was filed by the South Carolina company that insured it.
Palmetto Surety now claims the collateral to cover the bond was not sufficient.
The bond issue is now on hold until Dulos is able to return to a courtroom.
High profile New York bondsman Ira Judelson was also there today. Judelson says Pattis contacted him Tuesday to potentially take over the bond in the case.
