Police: 2 men arrested in connection with church vandalism in Monmouth County

Police in Freehold say two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a church vandalism.
They say Junior Romero and Darwin Romero, both 35, are accused of burglarizing the First United Methodist Church at 91 West Main St. last week in Freehold. Police say they are not related.
Both have been charged with burglary, unlawful entry of a structure and criminal mischief.
Freehold police say they are searching for a third suspect who is wanted for questioning.
According to the church’s Facebook page, church officials say they think someone wanted to steal pipes from the organ to sell for scrap metal, and that caused other pipes to collapse -- damaging it.

They believe the vandals got in by coming through a door that wasn’t properly closed, so there was no forced entry.
Police say no one was harmed, and nothing else was vandalized or stolen.
The organ was built back in 1967.
