Former State Representative John Shaban announced Saturday that he will run for his old seat in the 135th District.
Shaban is an attorney who represented Redding, Easton and Weston for three terms.
He stepped down in 2016 to pursue an unsuccessful bid for Congress.
"Here we are, a few years later and things aren't getting better. People can't sell their house, you can't get a job, and job creators and people with means are leaving the state every day. And that's really just a function of bad fiscal policy. So while talk is cheap, good schools, good roads and clean beaches are not cheap. So, you can spot a problem, but you need to have the fiscal discipline to actually solve the problem," Shaban said.
Shaban added that many small businesses need little more than a laptop to operate, in that it’s making it easier for business owners to move out of state.
