One of the nation's best college lacrosse conferences is coming to Long Island for its 2020 postseason tournament.
The Ivy League's Men's Lacrosse Tournament is set to be played at Hofstra University's James M. Shuart Stadium. The Ivy's top four teams will face off at the Hempstead venue in the conference's semifinals May 1 and finals May 3.
"We are incredibly excited to bring one of the nation's top conference tournaments to one of the sport's most passionate locations," Ivy League Executive Director Robin Harris said in a release. "We appreciate Hofstra welcoming the Ivy League and our fans for the weekend and look forward to showcasing our league on Long Island."
In the nearly five decades of the tournament's existence, the Ivy League has seen 10 national champions. Yale won the national title in 2018.
The conference is primed to have plenty of top competitors again in 2020. In the NCAA's preseason rankings, Yale is No. 3, Penn is No. 6, Cornell at No. 11, while Princeton received votes in the poll.
The Ivy League's 2020 season beings Feb. 8 when Yale plays Fairfield.
