Easton, Redding community mourns death of UConn student

People in Easton and Redding are remembering a young man who lost his life in a car crash over the weekend.
Cole Montefusco was killed early Saturday morning in a one-car crash near University of Connecticut, where he was studying finance.
Superintendent of Easton and Redding public schools, Dr. Tom McMorran, used to be Montefusco's principal at Joel Barlow High School.
UConn put out a statement saying, "Although his life was tragically cut short, his impact will be long lasting and his memory will be deeply treasured."
McMorran sent out a message on Facebook about the tragedy. He said Montefusco's family put this message to him in his yearbook: "Do not go where the path may lead. Go, indeed, where there is no path and leave a trail."
Coventry police are investigating the crash, which is believed to be the result of a mechanical issue.
