Bridgeport couple renews vows 50 years later, reveals key to happy marriage

A Bridgeport couple happily married for 50 years renewed their vows during a small family ceremony on Valentine’s Day.
Leon and Rosella Hook say they have been working as a team since they were little kids. They eventually became high school sweethearts, then tied the knot and had two boys and girl.
“You know how some people grow up and they forget about who they are and stop being themselves? He didn't stop being Leon. He's always Leon," said Rosella.
Rev. Dr. Herron K. Gaston noticed how happy the couple was and encouraged them to reaffirm their love Friday.
“For those folks that might be looking for love, searching for love, I think this is a prime example of how love can be so enduring," said the reverend.
The couple says every marriage has ups and downs, but they know that their marriage was meant to be. They say the secret to a happy marriage is compromise.
