A Danbury family is looking for answers after an ATV struck and killed their dog.
The O'Rourke family says an ATV sped down a hill around 8 p.m. Wednesday and fatally struck their dog Dusty in their front yard.
They say 4-year-old Dusty was playing with a ball on the ground when she was hit.
The family is now searching for the person who drove the ATV.
They first offered a $500 reward, which has grown to more than $5,000 thanks to donations. The family says two 11-year-old boys stopped by Saturday and donated their allowance money and Christmas money.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help catch whoever hit Dusty.
The O'Rourkes say they are heartbroken.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
