A Blue Point man who stopped into a convenience store came outside to find his truck missing, along with his four-legged passenger.
Eric Alfredson told News 12 that he stopped at a 7-Eleven on Montauk Highway in Blue Point at around 1 a.m. to get a Vitamin Water – leaving his truck running with his dog inside.
After his brief purchase, he came outside to find his truck gone.
"That's my baby, that's my only dog. I really just want him back," he said.
After calling police, Alfredson says he took to social media to get the word out that his truck and pet dog Brock had been stolen. As News 12 was speaking with him at the 7-Eleven, he got a message from a friend saying that someone spotted the car parked on the side of the road in Islandia.

When he arrived, he found his car unlocked and his dog unharmed. The ordeal lasted about 12 hours.
"All the people that helped out with the social media and the sharing, the lady that actually told us where it was, thank you, God bless. To all the great people out there, thank you," he told News 12.
Alfredson says the next time he goes to 7-Eleven, he'll be turning his car off.
Sixth Squad detectives are currently investigating the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
