Bridgeport firefighters recognized for saving mother, child from house fire

Two Bridgeport firefighters are being honored for saving the lives of a mother and her child a week ago.
Bridgeport Fire Chief Richard Thode says Dave Diaz and Pat Krompinger rescued the woman and her child from the third floor of the burning home on William Street.
Both were rushed to the hospital, with the child in critical condition.
But Thode says that just one week later, they're back at home with their family and are doing well thanks to brave actions of Diaz and Krompinger.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim also thanked the firefighters for their life-saving efforts.
