Ice hockey is one of the most physically demanding sports, but a trailblazing league is expanding the game for visually impaired players.
New York Metro is a team in league built for those legally or totally blind. The Blind Hockey League says its pushing for its sport to become an official part of the 2020 Paralympic Games.
Adaptations to the puck help the skaters track it auditorily -- it's bigger and moves slower, and can be heard.
The custom nets are smaller for skaters, and teams must complete one pass before scoring. That gives the goalie and extra opportunity to track the puck.
