'I don't blame her': Stratford BOE member hopes to have contact with daughter after reckless endangerment charge

A Stratford school board member is hoping to put the past behind him after being charged with reckless endangerment.
Bob DeLorenzo says a difficult custody dispute led his daughter to accuse him of sexual abuse after he spanked her for stealing his charge card.
After a lengthy investigation, those charges were dropped and DeLorenzo was charged with reckless endangerment. He decided to plead guilty under the Alford doctrine. Under the Alford doctrine, the defendant does not admit guilt but concedes the state has enough evidence to convict.
A judge has ordered DeLorenzo have no contact with his daughter -- something he says he hopes won't last forever.
"I don't blame her because it doesn't have to do with her," said DeLorenzo. "It has to do with the co-parenting skills of what my relationship was with my ex. And I think that a lot of people don't know that. They might think it's a community member, they might think it was a child who came over to the house, no it's not...this is family."
The question remains, should DeLorenzo leave the school board? The superintendent says there are no rules that require him to do that and he says he wants to complete his term.
