Firefighters: SUV bursts into flames on I-95 in Fairfield, no injuries

A car burst into flames on I-95 in Fairfield Wednesday and temporarily snarled traffic during the morning commute.

A car burst into flames on I-95 in Fairfield Wednesday and temporarily snarled traffic during the morning commute.
The incident happened in the southbound lane near the Exit 23 off-ramp around 6 a.m.
Firefighters say the SUV was fully engulfed in flames and that at least one person was inside but made it out uninjured.
 
Officials say traffic was delayed for approximately 45 minutes before the scene was cleared.
