Windsor Locks to get new train station as part of $17M grant

Posted: Updated:

Gov. Ned Lamont announced Saturday that Windsor Locks is getting a new train station.

Connecticut's Department of Transportation received a grant of over $17 million to build the new Hartford Line railroad station.

It will be adjacent to the new Montgomery Mills apartment complex along the Windsor Locks Canal.

“Since its opening, the Hartford Line has been a huge success, with ridership numbers on the rise,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Sen. Chris Murphy, and Rep. John Larson said in a joint statement. “We’re proud to have helped secure this federal grant for Windsor Locks. This new station will help the town maximize economic and transit-oriented development opportunities and invest in their future.”
