Greenwich officials says park is still closed to dogs due to virus in raccoon population

Greenwich officials say pets are still banned from Greenwich Point Park.

As News 12 has reported, dogs have been prohibited since mid-February after several raccoons were diagnosed with distemper.

Distemper is a virus that is very contagious in animals.

Health officials say the entrance booth will be manned this weekend to remind dog owners that dogs are still not allowed on the grounds as they continue to monitor the remaining raccoons in the park.
