Gov. Ned Lamont joined representatives of The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington to announce that the lab will be accepting samples from all over the state for coronavirus testing.
The lab, which is an independent, not-for profit research institute will now help complete coronavirus test results in Connecticut.
Officials say if the state performs more tests, they can prioritize care to those in the most dire need - and get the most out of available treatments.
The new partnership could soon mean hundreds of more tests per day.
