(AP) - Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont has changed the state's presidential primary from April 28 to June 2, as part of an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Connecticut on Thursday became the latest state to change its primary date. The move makes it mathematically impossible for Joe Biden to clinch the nomination before May.
The other states to postpone are Maryland, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio.
The primary change came soon after Connecticut experienced its second death from the virus. COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus, has stricken thousands across the globe but usually presents mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough.
