Members of the Connecticut National Guard helped the state Department of Public Health distribute 40,000 protective material for those dealing directly with coronavirus Friday.
Soldiers distributed the personal protective masks to ambulance companies and other first responders in all five emergency regions around the state.
The National Guard stepped in to help after Gov. Ned Lamont declared a state of emergency on March 10 in response to the pandemic.
The supplies were sourced from a stockpile intended for emergency usage.
