Lamont's stay-home order takes effect Monday

Gov. Ned Lamont released a short video on Twitter this weekend, reminding residents that his executive "stay home, stay safe" order that goes into effect Monday applies to all except for pharmacies, grocery stores and other businesses deemed essential.
He says that people staying home will help stop the spread of coronavirus and "flatten the curve."
Lamont also issued an executive order that suspends co-pays for doctors’ visits and says he will issue more clarification Sunday evening.
He also says the state is requesting any personal protective equipment including masks, surgical gowns and hand sanitizer.
The governor's office said a reminder about the stay-home order would be sent to more than 4 million Connecticut residents' phones through the state's alert system. The recording was being sent from the Emergency Operations Center in Hartford Sunday afternoon and was to be accompanied by a text message to mobile phones containing a link to the state’s coronavirus website, ct.gov/coronavirus.
