State workers won't get paid this week due to lack of state budget

About half of the state workforce will not get paid this week because there is no new state budget, according to the New York State Comptroller's Office.

Payments will go out once the Legislature passes and Gov. Andrew Cuomo signs the 2020-21 budget or a budget extender to fund the continued operation of state government.

The coronavirus has made the state budget officially late for the first time in a decade.
