Oxford brewery changes taproom into makeshift pantry for community

With the pandemic leaving many in the community out of work, an Oxford brewery is helping to make sure its neighbors have enough to eat.
While OEC Brewing's beers are still available for curbside pickup, the taproom closed and was changed into a makeshift pantry. The brewery is buying food from wholesalers every morning and making it available to anyone who needs it.
The brewery says with many people missing their paychecks, food insecurity is as serious a problem as ever. The rotating list of fresh and nonperishable items is posted on the brewery's Facebook page daily.
Employees say they'll keep giving meals away as long as OEC can keep its doors open.
"I strongly believe that as humans, the only thing that separates us from chaos is kindness and compassion. And at OEC, we strongly believe in kindness," says Chloe Girouard-Martel, of OEC Brewing.
