Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi tests positive for COVID-19
Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Monday.
The report was made public on the town's Facebook page Monday afternoon and read in part, "He (Marconi) wants to re-assure all Ridgefielders that while he doesn’t feel great, he is doing fine and will work from home as he continues to isolate himself.”
Marconi was quoted in the post as saying, “Because I have been extremely careful in following all the directives, this is a reminder of how aggressive this virus is. Please stay home.”
Ridgefield has a total of 107 COVID-19 cases and 12 fatalities as a result of the virus, according to the town's health department.
