Testing sites will open today in two Suffolk communities considered to be coronavirus "hotspots."
HRHcare, the agency that runs county clinics, will open testing sites at the Brentwood Recreation Center in Brentwood and Riverhead County Center in Riverhead.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says those are two communities with large populations of immigrants and people of color.
Community activists say more access to testing is a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done.
Executive Bellone says logistics company REEF Technology will be donating tents and support.
The program will bring residents in for testing by appointment only.
