The family lawyer of one of the two victims killed by a University of Connecticut student during the Memorial Day weekend spoke with News 12 Connecticut to discuss the next steps in the case.

Gene Zingaro, the attorney for Nick Eisele's family, says he believes there is a chance Peter Manfredonia's crime spree did not come out of the blue. According to him, there is speculation that Manfredonia's alleged ex-girlfriend's family considered filing a restraining order against him.

Pictures of wall writings allegedly written by Manfredonia made the rounds around social media last week. Officials have not confirmed if Manfredonia did write on the walls.

Zingaro says when those writings were photographed and who may have seen them before the killings is instrumental. Manfredonia was allegedly living off-campus, Zingaro says.

The attorney says he's unsure exactly what the university, authorities and doctors were aware of.

Mafredonia's family attorney, Michael Dolan, says he struggles with mental health issues.

A ceremony will be held for Eisele in Newtown Sunday.

Zingaro says the case against Manfredonia will more than likely be handled in Milford. He says that he has met with the state's attorney.
