A house in Stamford exploded and partially collapsed Saturday morning, fire officials say.
They say they got a call at 7:20 a.m. for a house on fire on Woodbine Road.
When firefighters arrived to the scene, they say they saw heavy smoke and no flames. Fire officials say the force of the explosion blew out the fire.
They say that they then discovered that the house partially collapsed and shifted off its foundation.
Fire officials say two people and multiple pets were in the home at the time. They say the two people and four pets managed to escape, while two other pets remain unaccounted for.
The Red Cross is assisting the victims.
