Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he wants answers amid new complaints about a local assisted living facility.
Mark DiPietro says he was a patient at Carlson Place in Norwalk and was "severely bitten by bedbugs" during his stay.
He tells Blumenthal some patients, including the elderly, were ill-treated and forced to sleep on the floor.
Blumenthal says he's reviewing complaints made to state health officials and wants to learn more about DiPietro's allegations.
DiPietro says, "The elderly are underfed, the house is dirty and infested with bedbugs, just the quality of life is below standard for what they are licensed for by the Department of Health in Hartford."
The facility did not respond to News 12's request for comment.
