The Army and Air Force Guard arrived in Connecticut Friday to help hard-hit areas of the state following Tropical Storm Isaias.
The units arrived at United Illuminating's headquarters in Orange.
As of Thursday, 580 National Guard personnel were out in the field, but that number is expected to increase today.
Of the hundreds of members helping to clear debris and restore power, most are UI line crews, tree crews and damage assessors.
The guard will be helping to clear roads, trees and debris so UI can access broken electrical equipment and restore power.
