BRIDGEPORT - Students at a Bridgeport vocational school that mysteriously shut down this month hope a special meeting with school officials tomorrow will get their educations back on track.

Students say they received an email from the Butler Business School on North Avenue that the college will be opening under a new name.

The school then shut down on Jan. 1, leaving 200 students who had taken out expensive loans with no answers.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who had immediately launched a federal investigation, says he's hopeful the school will actually reopen.

State education officials are warning students to carefully consider the school's past performance before resuming studies at the school. They say they should keep open the option of transferring credits elsewhere.

A meeting is scheduled between officials and students on Saturday at 1 p.m.
