GREENWICH - Greenwich police say a teen in Canada has been arrested for making several fake 911 hostage calls, including one in Greenwich last month.

Investigators say the suspect is a minor and has been charged in connection to at least eight incidents across North America.

In each case, officials say the teen reported a fake hostage situation and shooting. SWAT teams were called out.

Police say these fake calls tie up important resources that are needed in case of a real emergency.
