STAMFORD - An accident involving a tractor-trailer caused major problems for residents and commuters in Stamford.

Officials say the truck failed to navigate around power lines near the corner of Hope and Rock Spring streets. They say the vehicle brought down two poles, knocking out power for residents.

The owner of Hope Pizza says his restaurant, which is at the location of the accident, was affected by the incident.

CL&P says that 170 residents lost power, but most have gotten it back.

Officials say there were no injuries.
