STAMFORD - The University of Connecticut board of trustees is scheduled to meet this week to discuss housing students in Stamford.

A spokesperson for the university says this is the final step for this development plan, which would provide housing for UConn students in Stamford for the first time in school history.

The spokesperson told News 12 that the board of trustees will listen to a presentation this Wednesday, which includes details about the projects. She says the plan involves housing approximately 116 students at 900 Washington Blvd.

The location is close to the train station and just over a block away from the university.

The school says this location was one of at least 10 other locations that were considered.

If the board approves the plan Wednesday, the spokesperson says students could possibly move in by the September 2017 semester.
