A Fairfield man who police say stabbed his neighbor to death claimed Wednesday that the victim had molested his 2-year-old daughter.According to police, John Edington broke into Barry James? Colony Street home in Fairfield on Monday to confront James. Edington, 29, believed James had abused his daughter. Police say Edington argued with James before stabbing him almost a dozen times, killing him.Through a lawyer, Edington said the alleged sexual abuse led him to commit murder. Police say they are doing background checks on Edington and James to learn more about why the murder happened. Edington is being charged with murder and burglary. He is being held on $1 million bail.
