A Westport family came back from their trip to Rome with more than just typical vacation stories.
Tess Hinojos was kissed by Pope Francis at a general audience at the Vatican last week.
According to the 17-month-old's father, the pope stopped his motorcade to kiss and bless her.
Father Sam Kachuba, the vocation director of the Diocese of Bridgeport, says the experience shows the pope's true colors. He says that Pope Francis has the ability to reach out and see people, who, in turn, want to connect with him.
Adrian Hinojos says that while his daughter is too young to understand the experience, he believes that she will take advantage of it when she gets older.
Tess Hinojos' older brother was also at the Vatican when she was blessed, but missed it since he was playing with his iPad at the time.
